Bahamian Mafia Attacks Bahamas Community
by admin on Tue Sep 02, 2008 9:57 am
Busy day yesterday. No less than TWO members of the Bahamian message board mafia launched attacks on the Bahamas Community website.
The first attack came when an alleged member of the Bahamian underworld, who may also be closely associated with the Montreal mob, called our hosting provider threatening to "shut down the website", if we did not remove references to his mafia connections.
Hmmm, guess we hit a raw nerve, eh?
The other attack was a similar phone call from the queen of the message board mafia herself. She too had "issues" with the way we characterized her on this board. "Insufferable bitch", I think it was that one of us called her.
Curiously, she actually accused our hosting provider of making that post, which is ridiculous, as he/she rarely ever visits this board.
But the most interesting part is, when the mafia priestess was asked why she thought the post was made by this particular individual, she told him that Vincent Vanderpool Wallace (The Bahamas Minister of Tourism) was the one who told her, and that Vince claimed to have the IP address of the poster.
Very Interesting!!
How, she was asked, did the Bahamas Minister of Tourism have IP addresses from a private website, hosted in the United States?
Was she suggesting that Mr Vanderpool Wallace was tracking or spying on this website. Was she suggesting that Mr Vanderpool Wallace had obtained IP addresses illegally, and in violation of our local carrier's privacy policy, or worse yet, in violation of the fairly recently passed Data Protection Act.
Even more interesting is that, Vincent Vanderpool Wallace was the Director General of Tourism when the BahamasB2B website was attacked by hacker/crackers, allegedly hired by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism (and we DO have the IP addresses to prove it). Vince was also in charge when a mid-level manager at the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism sent out a falsified and slanderous email designed to smear the character of the BahamasB2B founder. And, Vince was also the guy who promised to be a judge in the Bahamas Web Awards, but at the last minute failed to vote. And he did that twice, two years in a row.
Sounds to me like Vincent Vanderpool Wallace has a bug up his tight ass about the Bahamas B2B network. Well, I hope he works that bug right out, and real quick. Because if he, or anyone associated with the corrupt Bahamas government, thinks we are going to put up with any more Bahamian mafia-like shenanigans, they have a very important lesson to learn.
A Fresh Voice for Bahamian Blogs
by admin on Thu Sep 04, 2008 1:10 pm
I was reading a post by one of our members, Sonny Bahamas, who also, apparently, represents BahamasB2B on MySpace.
The post piqued my interest, so I thought I'd mosey on over and read her (?) blog on MySpace also.
Hey, Sonny, great stuff!
Interesting and varied information, and even some good advice on a variety of subjects.
I've revisited the blog a few times over the past week and I think it is one of the freshest, "sunniest" blogs in The Bahamas.
She (?) doesn't appear to be a journalist or even a professional writer and the blog appears to target young women. But I like the candidness of the entries, the fresh tone and spunky attitude. Especially in contrast to the politically inspired, boring or angry stuff on other Bahamian blogs. (Who said, "Like this one?")
Check out Sonny Bahamas' BahamasB2B MySpace Page and tell me what you think.
Who Shot Omar Archer?
by admin on Thu Sep 11, 2008 11:23 am
Omar Archer is a former Bahamas Democratic Movement parliamentary candidate who switched to the PLP and ran for the party chairmanship earlier this year.
Just recently, Mr Archer was shot in a drive-by shooting that leaves many questions.
The assailant apparently drove up to Mr Archer, who was standing in the street, and shot him in the stomach. Then, Mr Archer says, the "hitman" tried to shoot him in the head - twice - but Archer dodged the bullets - both times.
Say what!? Missed twice... at close range?!
That would make the attacker the stupidest, most incompetent hitman the world has ever seen.
But the story gets even stranger.
In today's PUNCH, Omar Archer says it wasn't a hitman after all. It was a jealous suitor of his wife.
A man, Mr Archer says, he's been like a father to for many years.
Well, if he knows the man, why did he originally think the attack was made by a "hitman"?
And the rather elaborate story Mr Archer gave The PUNCH makes me think he is making it up.
A former police investigator once told me that any time he hears a story with all the "i's" dotted and "t's" crossed, he knows it is a lie.
"Real stories aren't that neatly packaged," he said.
I think Omar Archer is lying.
In fact, a friend of mine suggested that, possibly, Mr Archer is the one who leaked the damning report on the PLP to the press. My friend thinks the PLP hired a hitman to "punish" Mr. Archer for his indiscretions towards the party.
Hmmm, what do you think?
Homeless Judge
by admin on Thu Sep 18, 2008 5:55 pm
Bahamas Supreme Court Justice Anita Allen refused to hold court in her condemned court building on Bank Lane in Nassau.
The Ministry of Works condemned the building after an inspection in April reported that the facility was unsafe and not fit for use.
Justice Allen held court in various other locations for three weeks before returning to her own condemned courtroom.
On Wednesday, however, Justice Allen reportedly told her staffers that enough was enough and she could not take it anymore. She did not report for work on Wednesday and neither did any of her staff.
Well, I have an idea.
We are going to take volunteers that will offer to make their living rooms available for Justice Allen to hold court.
Hopefully, some of our wealthier community members will volunteer so we can offer some classy accommodations for the judge.
Just think... cozy overstuffed leather couches, big screen TVs and a kitchen full of snacks just steps away.
Talk about upgrading our court system, eh?
US Bailout is Corrupt Nonsense
by admin on Tue Sep 30, 2008 9:04 am
I agree with the Bahamas Uncensored website (which is very rare) regarding the "bailout" in the United States.
It is nothing but corrupt cronies enriching themselves (or saving their asses) at the expense of taxpayers.
Of course, the Bahamas Uncensored gang (including ringmaster Freddie Mitchell) know all about enriching themselves at the taxpayers expense... the PLP have been doing just that, for over 30 years.
| Quote: | BAILOUT NONSENSE IN THE US
The question you have to ask: why is Senator Barack Obama getting involved in this business of a bailout for Wall Street to the tune of 700 billion dollars that we are now witnessing in the United States? All of the Democrats and the Republicans have been lining up in front of the cameras, following the speech delivered by President George Bush with his characteristic hubris, well short of an understanding of the script. He said that the Congress needed to act because his country was in crisis. If the Congress did not act to find a solution to the crisis, the country would go under. We do not believe it. There should be no bailout of anyone.
The fact is, these people, the Wall Street fat cats, friends all of the McCain/Bush cabal, took the risk, and they ought to pay with the lessons of failure that they prescribed for others who fail. Now that they are in problems, the Government must come to their rescue? We are sorry that Senator Obama did not get out of this and then scorch John McCain his opponent for supporting policies that got the US into the mess.
Why would The Bahamas be concerned? We should be concerned because if the United States goes bankrupt, there is a problem for The Bahamas. What the US promises to do with this bailout will bankrupt their country. There is this feeling there that they have an infinite capacity to print money and there is no end to it. This is not true. Just see what happened in Zimbabwe for a lesson in what it costs to print money with no underlying productivity. At some point, the bill has to be paid. The bill has to be paid and it should be paid by those who caused the problem not the poor Joes including those of us in The Bahamas who have no say in this matter. |
