Happy New Year!
The sky over Nassau was popping with fireworks which started at Midnight, last night, and lasted for nearly 30 minutes.
Bahamians across the island chain were joined by thousands of tourists, from all over the world, in celebrating the New Year... Bahamian style.
Crowds descended on Nassau's Bay Street as the New Year's Junkanoo Parade got underway.
Hey, remember when there was talk about broadcasting Junkanoo to international television audiences? That idea should be rejuvinated, because frankly, I think a lot of people would find that more interesting than watching a ball drop at Times Square. ;-)
