US Republicans Rejoice While The World Mourns
America braces for attack as war criminal Bush is re-elected.
Despite massive efforts from a variety of patriots pushing for a change, hordes of ignorant fundamentalist "christians" helped put accused war criminal George W. Bush back into the office of President of the United States.
They will most likely regret that decision.
Islamic freedom fighter, Osama bin Ladin, who has been branded a terrorist by Western nations, has made it abundantly clear that the security of America was in the hands of Americans themselves. In a videotape released last week the international fugitive cautioned Americans about re-electing Bush. Bin Ladin is widely believed to be the mastermind behind the cowardly and unspeakable World Trade Center attack in 2001 that killed thousands of Americans. He justified the attack in the recently released video saying it was in retaliation for the hundreds of thousands of Iraqi, Lebonese and Palestinian citizens murdered by Mr. Bush, his allies and his father, George H. Bush, the 41st President of the US.
US voters widely dismissed the video as an irrelevant sideshow.
However, anxiety, concern and dismay were expressed from all corners of the world last night as challenger John Kerry's election chances slowly eroded over the course of the evening.
The United States has endured a roller-coaster ride of warnings during the past three years and two months — such as when al-Qaeda set off bombs in Madrid just before Spain's election. Or when, from time to sickening time, Homeland Security Chief Tom Ridge raised the threat level. Or the many times anti-terror officials picked up "chatter" about a pre-election attack.
One caution, though. It's tempting to believe that al-Qaeda didn't attack because the U.S. has weakened its capability. The problem is that using an American prism may be myopic. Bin Laden doesn't necessarily work on a U.S. election timetable.
Real message: Go ahead, celebrate a terror-free Election Day. Just keep on guard.
As Yogi Berra might have said, the war on terror isn't over till it's over.
